Beige Book is a report published 8 times per year. It concerns current U.S. economic situation and forecasts for the next FED decisions. In 1983 the Beige Book replaced the Red Book. The Beige Book is different from its predecessor not only with covers color but also with the fact that it is publicly available, it can be found on the Internet.
For the Beige Book to be created, each of twelve Federal Reserve banks gathers information on current economic condition in its district. This information comes from the banks themselves as well as from economists, experts, managers of large firms and other sources. Collected information is passed to the central FED bank, which is responsible for preparing the Beige Book. The analysis contained in it includes division into districts and sectors: industry, mining, agriculture, trade, services, finance and banking, tourism and also concerns consumers spending and labor market situation.
The Beige Book is a part of FOMC (Federal Open Market Committee) preparation for meetings and is published two weeks before every scheduled meeting.

The Consumer Price Index is released by Statistics Bureau and it provides information about the average changes in the price for the end consumer of goods and services. It presents the information from the consumer’s perspective. This indicator is based on the changes in the price of a ‘basket’ of goods and services such as: food, clothing, transportation, education, health service, etc. The ‘basket’ excludes contributions and donations for religious purposes, tax on revenues, and savings.
The Core CPI is calculated after excluding fresh food from the ‘basket’. The report is produced monthly, around 25 days after the month ends.

PPI (Producer Price Index) is an indicator of producer inflation rate published by Destatis (German Statistical Office), reflecting prices change of prices set by manufacturers and sellers operating in Germany. This report relates to industry, mining, energy and water industries. It covers both the selling price of industrial products to domestic buyers at different stages in the economic process, and sales between industrial enterprises. Information about prices is gathered on the 15th day of each month by the statistical offices of the Länder and then transmitted to the Federal Statistical Office, which calculates and publishes the relevant indexes. The study involves about 5,030 companies supplying information on prices of 1,254 types of products. The report is published once a month, around the 20th day of the following month.
